Starting March 1st, IE6 users won't be able to use Google Docs or Sites, at least not the way they're intended.




Google quotes the need for modern browsers to use modern applications, but this is also a step forward in a sense that anyone using IE6 is at risk as it is a very insecure browser by today's standards (exploits in Internet Explorer (present in versions 6-8) were responsible for some of the cyberattacks on Google from China).

From what I can tell though, it's not so much "We're not letting you use this because you're using IE6," it's more like they're updating the application without being able to support it, which imo nobody should have to support ie6.

(although wouldn't it be nice if something like locking all ie6 users out of everything google (including search) until they upgrade their browser worked)
