lolno, a map is tinier than a plugin to generate the entire thing considering the plugin would have to store all the map info in some form or another along with the generation code.

tl;dr tekkit has shitty reliability, crashes very often. It has awesome bugs whereby you can corrupt a large number of chunks and crash any client that goes in them. Its an absolute resource hog because of the terrible way its coded.

Keep in mind that the one bug pointed out was just an example, who knows how many more are out there that will cause even greater problems
