PASADENA, California (CNN) -- A group of astronomers announced Friday that an object they discovered in the distant reaches of the solar system is large enough to be classified as the 10th planet -- a claim likely to reignite a debate over just how many objects should really have the title of planet.
Rest
Here
We should make it the 10th planet... cuz 10 sounds official!

They failed the demote Pluto as a planet right? And this is a larger size so im sure they'll consider it a planet as well. Anyone know why it takes so long for The International Astronomical Union to actually rule it as a planet or not?

Cuz big things don't happen in Space progress that often... so they stretch it as long as they can to make it seem like they're doing something?

10 commandents, top 10 lists, etc. Why not a 10th planet? That'd be cool, and it'd be interesting to have something new in science that's allowed to be talked about in school for once. We usually can't talk of evolution, abortion, stuff like that.

Haven't they been debating a 10th planet for a decade now? Astronomomers have actually discovered many moons/chunks of rocks orbiting out sun, if I remember correctly, but have been debating whether to give them the title "10th planet" because of the extreme distance.

That's in another branch of the Milky Way, but yes we do. Nothing to worry about though.

The only form of determining if it is a planet it is going there, and I believe that they should already be planning to send a robot to verify that it is that...
And if we put it a name?. I propose: PaiSand Rulz
[edit] Ok, ok, only Paisand, drop the "rulz". But for the Paisand Scotish meaning [/edit]

Well they always name them after Roman gods, like Pluto, Jupiter, Venus, etc. So why not another deity of some sort? Maybe something besides Roman gods for a change.
Ra? Amon-Ra? Isis? Fenrir? Odin? Ragnarok?
If they kept the Roman trend, then maybe Vesta, Minerva, Diana, Bacchus, or Proserpine? I think Proserpine would be good because she was the wife of Pluto.
I have a feeling they won't go for God or Jesus, though.
