make money fast - saturday 10am PST blizzcon tickets

Post by joe » Fri May 29, 2009 5:54 pm

here's the deal:
tomorrow (saturday) morning, tickets to blizzcon 2009 go on sale at 10AM PST. they are $125 and sell for $200+ on ebay. you can get over $100 just for the included code for the exclusive WoW pet.

they sold the first half of the tickets last week and they sold out in less than 30 minutes, so they will probably sell out even faster this time. seems like guaranteed way to make at least $50 it not more. looking at completed auctions on ebay right now i see auctions closing anywhere from $200 up to $500.

In case you missed out on the first round of BlizzCon 2009 tickets, make sure you make it to the BlizzCon website tomorrow morning to miss out on that batch as well.

Just like the amazing vanishing first batch, the remaining BlizzCon tickets go on sale at 10am Pacific time at BlizzCon.com tomorrow.

Tickets are running $125 a piece this year, and you need to have a valid Battle.Net login to purchase them, so you might want to make sure you've got that all in order right now.

I've been considering buying a box of their card game expansion packs. There's a (very) small chance you can get a rare loot card, which has a code on the back. This code can be used to obtain another code, which is then used at some vendor in the game. In return, depending on what the loot card was, you can get some sort of mount, pet, or gimmick item. Generally codes for the mounts sell for the highest, with some as high as $1000.

One of the funnier items I've seen is the Foam Sword Rack. Basically, someone can create this rack of foam swords, and people of any faction can grab one so you can have CROSS FACTION BATTLES with FOAM SWORDS, and whoever loses, their foam sword EXPLODES into CONFETTI.

It varies from card to card, and from booster pack to booster pack. There's some guy that hangs out on wowhead.com (big WoW related database), and posted comments for every loot card redeemable item.

For this particular card, the chances of you getting one are 1 out of every 484 booster packs:
Daldain on 12/28/2007 wrote:Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
The Spectral Tiger comes from the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)
TCG Expansion: Fires of Outland (Official Site)
Card: Spectral Tiger
Rarity: 1/484 booster packs
Distribution: Fires of Outland booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $140 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $2,823.00

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/reins_of_the_ ... _tiger.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $1,000 USD upwards to $1,500 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 10 items. Prices have been increasing steadily due to this TCG expansion being out of print.
