The day this comes out I am going to sacrifice a pig on my Duke altar. Then use it's blood as face/body paint and wear it's head as a hat while I sit and play Duke Nukem Forever naked wearing naught but sow entrails while eating beer soaked pig's feet. Hail to the king baby.

I have the original Duke Nukem on my iTouch.
It's a free app, and it's amazing.

I heard that app was actually pretty bad

the app does suck, really hard controls and just feels weird on an ipod playing on PC or xbox is so much better

I'm going to be the sand in the vaseline. I, for one, am not real excited about the rebirth of Duke Nukem.

In its day, Duke was a fun game. It was over the top, celebrated being trashy, had a multiplayer that was great for LAN parties and some interesting villains. To the best of my memory, it was a pixelated game in the same vein as Doom and Hexen and did not have hardware acceleration.

What does a reborn Duke Nukem bring to the table that other games not only do, but have done for years? Seriously- in terms of nostalgia, what does Duke Nukem do? Well, it's nostalgic.

So for me, i couldn't care less about the Duke Nukem franchise. If i want to be wow'ed, it's going to come from gameplay, stability and if those two are solid, then style as well. Too many times i've bought into the hype for a game (X-Com- everything past Terror from the Deep, Dungeon Siege, Frontlines: Fuel of War to name just a FEW of many), only to find that under the packaging lay a mediocre cat turd.

The new Duke game might be awesome. It might be the best thing since threesomes with your girlfriend and your ex. Either way, it's gonna have to earn it. I'm done with buying into the hype of a game because of fan buzz. Except for the new X-Com game where they're taking a classic turn based game and turning it into a state of the art.... WTF?!? First person shooter? Fuck.

I'm going to play Minecraft now.
