I find the fact that the Federal Reserve isn't ALREADY audited on a semi-annual basis kind of disturbing.

But it has to be free from any government interference to be effective...

This issue is bi-partisan, the fed has gone on too long with making monopoly money. Originally the money that we used to have, actually had intrisic value now its only imaginary.

what he said, but not so inflammatory. gold standard or whatever you like is misleading and somewhat oxymoronic. what gives the gold it's value? it's usefulness? well then why the fuck would you want to use it as money? and this gold's value changes depending on context. in the end, it comes back to someone just saying: this is the standard. except you're deluding yourself into thinking that it somewhat.

to sum up, there is no reason to need a standard for money, and if you're really that fucking worried about "monopoly money"
A) you don't understand the basis for and philosophical implications of modern currency
and
you shouldn't want anything more than a barter system. which is dumb.
