as long as the soap doesn't have lye in it (and chances are your regular dish soap does not) you can use soap

you are not supposed to clean it all the way, wearing it adds flavour.

It's not, it only applies to this obsolete piece of cookware, that fools think
it's gonna enhance the flavor of what is being prepared.

Table salt is a good abrasive to use if you need to scrub your pan. Just make sure you wipe it off cleanly with a paper towel afterwards.
