Mechanical Keyboards
Let's talk about them. Do you use one, prefer one, own one, have used one? They're supposed to be much better than standard stock keyboards that came with your hp desktop. My only gripe is the cost

Mmm mechanical keyboards

Better to use and much more durable. Like consoles and PC's. Better in every way, except for the price tag.

Typing this on the corsair k90, it's fantastic and absolutely worth the money to me.
Re: Mechanical Keyboards
I like my Razer "tournament" keyboard (blue switches, no numpad). It was probably annoying to coworkers.

Re: Mechanical Keyboards
I have a Black Widow Ultimate, and I love it. I really like the sounds when typing, even though plenty of people hate how loud mechanical keyboards are, and the keyboard is very sturdy and easy to clean. It's a bit harder to play platformers, though, because you have to press the keys down harder (compared to my laptop keyboard that I used for a long time).
Re: Mechanical Keyboards
If you care for the sanity of people in mumble/skype I would not get one. If you don't care then go for it.

Re: Mechanical Keyboards
why would you need letters on a keyboard
Re: Mechanical Keyboards
For situations when you need to find the Prt Scr key, that keyboard still has them ,but they are so small.

It really depends on what you want. Black (most Steelseries) and Red (Corsair) don't "click" like Blue (most Razer) or Brown. The general consensus says Black / Red for gaming, Blue / Brown for typing, but it depends on what you like. I bought a keyboard with Blues as I type a good amount, and it was $70 on Prime (and I needed a keyboard ASAP).

I have the Razer Anansi, the one with the Backlight that you can customize. It has the clank that mech keyboards have, but it's a bit softer. The only downside is that the lighting part takes up a whole separate usb port, but honestly it's good for 80 dollars.

Plus I like the Thumb pad with hotkeys and the safe mode that makes the Windows button moot.
