He's going 1440p and G-Sync however, so the XL2730Z would be the model, however that would depend if Rotten cares about the differences between Nvidia's G-sync and AMD's Freesync.

It's also $150 cheaper than the Acer that Rotten posted, mostly due to Nvidia's premium on G-Sync (they charge out the ass for the branding alone, plus it's a physical module actually put inside the monitor).
Definitely the best monitor for gaming if your three major points are 27", 1440p, and 144hz. If you plan to have other uses for it though the Acer might be more suitable. BenQ monitors don't have as accurate color representation at times, I use my Asus 1440p for design work because of this. When it comes to 144hz though BenQ is certainly king.

Basically ghosting used to be an issue but that's been solved, at this point it's basically a compatability issue but only if you're running an AMD card, if you're running Nvidia you'll see basically the same results between either tech.

3D was always a fad, the ultra wide displays are a thing that is worth while and if you use a monitor for more than just gaming the extra screen real-estate comes in handy. There are also other options in the same vein as a gaming monitor.

My buddy has a slim bezel Dell monitor and he loves it. While it is only 60hz it still looks really nice.
