Vincent is so not cool, it's so staggeringly insane how many people like him. He was a prissy little awesome bitch who hid in a coffin for years, the only reason people like him is because of his red coat. That's the running theme with Japanese characters, cool red coats.

Cid Highwind was the fucking badass of that game.

He was a weak character. I can think of no instance where he said or did anything overtly badass. It boils down to his appearance. Guy with a gun and red coat automatically equals cool, or so people would like you to believe. Dante, Vash, the Hellsing guy, Vincent; prime examples of this.

Though Dante, Vash, and the Hellsing guy obviously have instances of badassery (especially Dante), Vincent has done nothing except be the perfect gay fanfic bishie bait.

Vincent flies around and all you see is his cap and bullets flying at you. If that isn't badass, then I don't know what is.

He is completely and utterly badass in Advent Children.

And while I do agree that the red cape/gothic attire is a bit overused, all the characters sporting this are indeed badass.

By the way, "the Hellsing guy"'s name is Alucard.
