M.U.L.E. ported to PC (and mac + linux) and free

Post by joe » Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:38 am

if you've never heard of M.U.L.E. it's widely considered one of the most influential games of all time

it was an atari 800 game so not a lot of people these days have played it but now there's a free version (online multiplayer)

HELL YEAH!

Used to play MULE a lot with my buddies on emulator, game is fun as hell, I wonder how I never found out about this. Gonna have to play a game with my sister and cousin later! HIGHLY recommend this game if you have 2 or 3 people around and some time to kill, it's hugely entertaining.

Thanks for the post Joe!

Argh, multi-player on one computer doesn't seem to be supported, guess I'll have to try to set up the old emulator again.

Looks great for online games though.

Thanks for posting Joe, I've always heard so much about this game and been interested in trying it. This seems like it would be a great game to play online, though I don't think I really have time to get into it right now. How long do the rounds usually last?

Yeah I had a good game with my cousin earlier today in which I managed to buy out the food and gouge the prices and then proceed to do the same thing with energy. The overall colony success is usually very low in my games as I play pretty cutthroat and focus on making sure the others are as miserable as possible haha.

If anyone wants to set a time and try an online game or two, I'm down.

It's the only way to play competitive multiplayer games!

If someone has a food shortage and they're in the lead, buy all the food so they starve. Works even better with energy!

Wow this brings back some memories.. Does it have the cool theme song?
Visit Goozex to trade your old games and get newer ones for pennies on the dollar! I've traded on there for a while now and I can't recommend the site enough.

^Unfortunately they made a remix of the theme song, and it's not nearly as good in my opinion.

Then again I'm one of the few who likes the Atari version more than the C64 (SID).
