update:

played to lv 12 (max for trial untill it's f2p) with a recon yesterday, everything went fine until i tried a mission: me, rat (medic) and 2 assaults

i learned a few things:
-you cannot shoot through teammates
-assaults are fat (they say it's the armor, yeah, right)
-hit one thing as recon and all aggro is yours forever (i hit for around 700 per bullet, that's about what the assaults did together in 10 seconds
-a medic can't save you from the concentrated attacks of a swarm of computerized enemies who can't miss
when the assaults had moved behind me for some reason, i first though "woo now i can finally try to hit something", little did i know they were running, which leads me to
-when walking backwards you're slow
-when zoomed in, you're slower
-when both, you're dead

as a recon you can solo everything at your own speed, killing them one by one at an insane range, while as an assault + medic you can do large teamfights

i also played something else this morning, can't remember the name but it's the engie from tf2
i solo'd one of the quest bosses by putting my turret there and shooting his friends

If you have the game, just focus on getting to level 30+, because that's when the fun begins (most gear unlocked, high-level PVP brackets, new mission types available). PVP matches are the best part of this game, but I guess the PVE missions can be challenging too. Here are some decent example videos:

You can't really tell from that video but most good agencies get in mumble and coordinate pretty well (team composition, focus firing, nade stacking, hunting down the beacon carrier, prioritizing targets, strategic positioning, offhand device timing, etc). There's definitely far more teamwork involved in AvA than in a pug match.
