It happens every night. Join the joe.to platoon and join the "derp" channel in mumble, it's where most of us gather later at night.

I still don't get why they didn't choose a beta map that has vehicles (yeah, I know that some got to play the Caspian Border one, but I mean the map that most people are playing in the beta), since I think a big part of the BF series are the vehicles.

Anyways, quite the contrary to my feelings a month earlier, I am quite tempted to get this now and was also surprised that I was able to run this pretty decently on med-high settings (though, no AA, :().

By only letting us play Operation Subway, people miss out on a huge part of the battlefield experience and instead relate it much moreso to CoD.

So far i love the game, i didnt play BC2 but i played BF2 almost as much as i played cs growing up, and BF3 feels like the new gen BF2.

Im pumped for vehicles they look like a lot of fun and i love battlelogs except for the server shit.

Defiantly buying this to stay entertained before CS:GO.

Its good, only thing i miss is the BF2 commander mode where you could call in UAV and airstrikes and were able to destroy enemy objectives that would disable those commander things.

Caspian Border is back this weekend (will open back up today around 6 am CST).
After analyzing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC Open Beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta’s final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64 player Caspian Border map.

*****Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers***** As such, users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities. Understand that such potential issues and the testing environment are not reflective or indicative of the final product and that, through your participation, you will be helping to ensure future stability and functionality.

As we are again specifically testing 64-player server configurations, this test will be for PC only. The Caspian Border servers will be available for all PC players to join. Caspian Border will be available starting Friday, October 7th, in the afternoon (CET).

J0E wrote:Just downloaded the open beta.....and it really blows that I cant edit my mouse button controls. To the point where I cant even play.
Here's an example script for AutoHotKey that I'm using (defaults in parenthesis). It rebinds Mouse2 to Duck (ctrl), F to zoom (Mouse2), and v to knife (F).

Code: Select all

#IfWinActive Battlefield 3
*RButton::
SetKeyDelay -1
Send {Blind}{LCtrl down}
SetMouseDelay 1
Send {Blind}{RButton Up}
return

*RButton Up::
SetKeyDelay -1
Send {Blind}{LCtrl up}
return

f::RButton
v::f
#IfWinActive
You should be able to figure out how to modify it to your needs. Here is a list of acceptable keys for AutoHotKey to use.

Don't forget to join the platoon. It's easier to find each other since from my experience party join is iffy most of the time.

Just played Caspian Border, it's awesome ,but the saturated colors and all the detail at once hurts my eyes.
Those Bideo Bames and their wacky graphics...

Loving Caspian Border, not loving the lag when the player counts hit 50+.

Yeah, some of the servers are very laggy. But I managed to find one that isn't.

And I am quite enjoying Caspian Border...mostly because it's great that I am hearing jets flying overheard in a BF game again. I think my favorite vehicle I tried so far is the mobile AA. Fun to use.
