Vindictus (Ball Kicking Gnoll Simulator)

Post by Django » Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:08 am

Ok so here's this new MMORPG from the great country of
Image
Image Korea Image

It's called vindictus ,and it looks like a Terra Clone with a special thing.
It's on the source engine ,and its' 100% free of all charge. Think about it as Spiral Knights mixed with Terra, Guild Wars 2 ,and let's throw Wow into the mix.
From the steam page
In a world tarnished by battle and despair, the remnants of mankind cling to an ancient prophecy: One day, when all of humanity’s enemies are slain, the Goddess will return to bring them to a mystical land of paradise called Erinn. But the fight has waged for too long, and humanity is losing hope. It’s time for the brave to grab their weapons, carve a path outside their feeble fortifications, and bring the prophecy to pass.

Featuring brutal, physics-based action, Vindictus is a fast-paced action-RPG with stunning graphics and destructible environments. Customize your character and gear, join forces with your friends to take down tough bosses, and unravel the truth of the ancient prophecy. Will your actions be enough to awaken the Goddess and summon forth Erinn?

Key features

Action gameplay enabled by modified Source Engine™
Dynamic and challenging party play
Innovative quest system
Gear crafting and customization
Free-to-Play
:

Ok, so

Pros
1. Really actiony, you can most items on the ground ala final fight ,and use them. There are a ton of weapons, spells, etc. It all feels satisfying, great combat
2. It's on steam so it is easy to log in ,and use.
3. Small download size, only 3.5 gbs
4. It's on source so it will run on any computers
5. It looks good for a source game
6. Easy to set up a party ,and you still get xp regardless of the level
7. Really good immersive intro, cool town and characters, and music
8.It is FREE

Cons
1. Since it's on source sometimes it might get buggy/laggy
2. Slow start according to Ianws, gets better as you level up
3. It doesn't have either the polish or variety of full price mmo's like wow/guildwars2/terra/oldrepublic

Wait a moment, i'm not done yet...

We have a Guild. It's joe.to obviously ,and you can send an application.

:lecture: Remember, we usually play on West Servers ,and in Channel 3 :lecture:

So far Iawns, Rottencheese ,and i have been playing

I thought there was something where you had to pay to play after a certain amount of time or past a certain level?
Because, since you don't know me, there is a great possibility that I'm on an higher intellectuel level then you are on.

It's pay-to-win.

Negative, it's completely free.

The old system over a year ago had "tokens" where you could only do so many runs per day, but they got rid of that so now it's play as much as you want.

Also not true. Items in the cash shop include: Healing Potions, Storage chest upgrades, Hair, Inner Armor (underwear), badges which increase your luck (grants a bit of a chance to have monsters drop 1 extra item). There's no way to become a good player with just paying tons of money. Later in the game it requires a lot of skill and is not very dependent on anything but your own skill level.

I played this like, a year ago when it was in beta.

It's pretty pay to win.

It's definitely pay-to-win, saying otherwise is just fanboy talk.

It's pay to nothing, this game is so fucking easy that you will actually have to be some sort
of person who is new to video games, a 4 year old, a 90 year old, or a monkey to actually
have to pay for items in order to do any form of progress.

This game is really generous on the item drop, gold drop, ap drop, etc.
Enemies , though easy, are fun to kill, etc.

For some reason, Canadians all of a sudden decided to become backwards in all cultural aspects during the last 5 years.
Like slicing their dicks, downgrading to shitty internet, causing tf2 drama/attention, fucking up private channels in mumble, and thinking Blizzard is a legitimate
video game company that care for their fans, instead of wanting to suck all the money.

i played it about a year / half a year ago, was pretty fun but a bit slow at first indeed, just couldn't really get into it, probably because of league of legends or other games, don't know

may get back into it if being on american servers isn't too bad
that seems like a huge amount of work for no good reason - joe
