Does anyone have a game play video they'd recommend? The reviews I've read sound so interesting, but the videos look boring as fuck.
You're probably not going to get too much out of a gameplay video, really... the best part of the game is the thrill of exploring the land while constantly being on edge because it's so easy to get killed, and death actually is a considerable setback. The combat isn't really too much to look at, it's all about analyzing your enemies and figuring out how to exploit their behavior and the terrain with your weapon of choice, choosing exactly when and how to dodge, block, and attack. Definitely not going to be mashing buttons.

I'd recommend avoiding spoiling the game at all by looking up information/walkthroughs and the like, you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of it that way. Explore all of the various mechanics and such on your own and don't just try to figure out what "builds" and weapons are considered the most effective, there is a lot of content in the game.

That being said, here's some basic blind gameplay from near the start of the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBIZ9dqju30&t=20m42s (can't embed due to timestamp)

Bought this out of rage last night. This looks so beautiful on PC, there are some parts that drop frames worse than others (dragon bridge for instance) but it plays exactly how I remember it. Recommended 100%, even more so with the resolution mod.

Only problem I've had so far is my PC's performance is butt and I had to forward ports to get co-op to work.

I cannot invade or summon people at all on PC.

I even opened the ports people suggested for PS3/Xbox, or is there somthing else im doing wrong?

They always fail, and I can never invade and when I try to invade it gives no errors, it just never happens.

But I can get invaded.

Look at the wikia, it might work

Also on a funnier note, During a run inside the Duke's Archive I noticed a blood stain in front of a Chest.... You guys know where this is going right?!

I laughed my ass off when I touched it

I just invaded my first 3 players, shit was awesome.

First player jumped to his death off a waterfall, never even saw him.

Second player I fought and got him down to low HP, he panicked and started to run. Ran into a rat, I backstabbed him.

Third player summoned 2 other players to help him. Oh god I got raped.

Found them here: http://www.amazon.com/forum/video%20gam ... MM0L3YAZL2

"Also, if you're having trouble summoning people, this could help:

Port listings for Games for Windows - LIVE

Port forwarding must be enabled on the TCP port 80.
Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP and TCP port 3074.
Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP port 88
Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP and TCP port 53
Port forwarding must be enabled on the TCP port 443"

HOWEVER I'm having trouble co-oping with my friend who also forwarded his ports, it works with some other friends without a problem though. HMPH 8|

Thanks, hopefully it works, I had PS3 ports opened because I figured it used the same.

If you guys have any other suggestions on how to get co-op working 100%, please post them here. I'm looking for any help with this Dx

I've had no luck for abouuuut 4 hours straight a couple nights ago trying to co-op with one friend of mine. The previous night, we tried co-oping and it didn't work, we both forwarded our ports, and after doing that we could summon each other just fine and both made it to the Bell Gargoyles. The next day, we tried summoning each other to beat the Bell Gargoyles and could NOT summon each other AT ALL, we could see our signs fine. We tried re-checking/forwarding more ports, restarting the game, dying, going to different bonfires, etc. Nothing would get us working, it kept saying "Summoning Failed". We were getting invaded a lot, so we're still connected to the servers.

So about 1 AM we ragequit on that idea, and as I was going to shut the game off, I found a Steam friend's sign randomly on the ground that I had no idea even had the game. First time I tried summoning him, he appeared just fine. He didn't forward any ports or anything. So I'm looking for any sort of solution to this problem ._______.

Bring up the GFWL menu -> Settings -> Network

Make sure your NAT is Open, and UPnP is On.

If they are not, you are missing something (the port forward stuff or UPnP setting on router).

[EDIT] Got into more PVP. I recommend this video too:

Backstabbing? More like Lagstabbing.

Dancing with some guy, I get behind him, backstab for 0 damage. He recovers, I target lock, he rolls backwards and I put up my shield and walk off to the side. suddenly we both freeze and slide slightly towards each other, I'm still facing him. He does the backstab animation, I fall towards him and die.

Seriously fuck that shit. The best fights are the ones where people don't fish for backstabs.

In other news, Soul Level 46, just arrived at Sens Funhouse. I'm considering going back through to the catacombs so I can try and get the Right of Kindling and maybe a Black Knight Great Axe if I'm lucky.
