Just because an opinion is negative doesn't mean it should be silenced, he's talking about DS2 directly, there is no better thread for doing that than the dedicated DS2 thread. I happen to agree with him on many points, the game was straight up made by different people and lacks the vision and attention to detail the first did, and in many cases appears to be designed based on public perception of the series rather than as an actual entry. This is shown in areas spamming enemies and poison, and traps all because they're "harder" and "you're supposed to die".

Coming up against a skeletal beast in the tomb of the giants, getting the shit scared out of you, but keeping it together enough to kill the thing is rewarding.

Getting spammed to death by a hammer sentinel that was literally programmed to have unlimited stamina isn't a challenge, it's an requirement to cheese.

I very much enjoy the game, but it has a shit ton of problems.

but serious time now, yes the game definitely turns the angry switch on me ,which to be honest those are not my absolute feelings on the game.
I feel mostly disappointed if anything, which is nothing new regarding any sequel of any medium that doesn't live up to the impossible hype of the predecessor.

You see, for me Dark Souls 1 was the game i always wanted if i were a kid, for real i love punishing myself to beat a game and loved doing side research on them
for information that you probably never even considered, that shit is exciting when you are a kid. So that's why im very overt with my feels on the new game.

When you constantly hear the same opinion from different people over and over again, its either that in an non absolute objective sense, people might be right and you
should reconsider what you think of it

I love reading this thread. I sorta treat Dark Souls like I do EVE, I love reading shit about it but dammit if I can find enough time to play and actually get into it. Though Dark Souls would most likely be the more fun of the two options.

At first I was kinda breezing through it, until the 3ed bonfire, where it kicks it up a notch. No spoilers, but let say that am fully hollow for the first time in a long time, and I feel a little of that desperation where you start bargaining with the game.
