Need horror games

Post by Sanvich Hoovy » Wed Sep 17, 2014 3:12 pm

So, it's almost October, and I try to set up a marathon of Sp00k33 games that'll last me the whole month, and I need suggestions.

Games I've played already:
Silent Hill 1-3
Lone Survivor
Outlast
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Pathologic (wasn't able to finish due to poor translation)
System Shock 2

Games I've watched playthroughs of and therefore wont play:
Silent Hill: Downcoming
Amnesia 1 &2
Resident Evil 2 & 4
Eternal Darkness
I have no mouth and I must Scream
Indigo Prophecy

Games I've got lined up:
Dead Space 1
F.E.A.R +DLC
Five nights at Freddy's
My therapist told me that I gamble in order to escape from the realities of life and I replied that's why everyone does everything. - Norm MacDonald

...That reminds me, I still need to play System Shock 2...

ah well, how about Penumbra: Overture and Penumbra: Black Plague? http://store.steampowered.com/app/22180/

They were Frictional's first titles from before they made Amnesia.

i still refuse to play most horror games though fuck jump scares

Dead space can be very spooky if you play it alone and in the dark as spooky games are meant to be. It's more of a sci fi horror thing but it totally gives you that alone in space feeling and there's a lot of creepy environments and scary monster guys.

One of my favorite single player shootin games of all time.

SCP Containment Breach is spooky.

Lann suggested I get super drunk and stream it sometime near Halloween, still contemplating the second part of that.

F.E.A.R. 2 is the scary one out of the three. How dare you not play through amnesia, because its probably the greatest horror game on the century. Same with I have no mouth and i must scream, what is wrong with you man.

Dead space 1 and 2 are two different kinds of scary but i would recommend playing through both of them. Fucking Immortals in those games are the most terrifying enemy ever.

Five nights at Freddy's is stupid, don't play it.

Penumbra is pretty good and i would recommend it to anyone who is in to the horror genre.

Last one i would say would be S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. Not technically a horror game but it has its moments.

It's pretty good, like a first person silent hill/resident evil.

The real question is if the second one is good or not. I've heard about a bear.

F.E.A.R is awesome! it's quite spooky, much more so than the other two in my opinion. The plot is fun (but a little meh) and I love the gunplay.

FEAR 2 is also quite fun, though it's less scary IMO.

FEAR 3 is super fun co-op (I have it on steam if anybody wants to play it with me!), but there's very little fear to it. single player is a little bland. co-op for it fucking kicks ass.
I asked David Geffen personally if he'd donate to TF4 for me, but he wouldn't do it
