I'm super excited for this game.
I've been wanting a fun, new FPS to play with all y'alls, so I hope Blizzard doesn't mess this up.

It is unlikely it will have much penetration in this group or any formed outside of the game itself especially since it will likely be $60 game, either through a pay2win or straight box price. It doesn't have a mass appeal and a high cost of entry means it's a niche product, TF2 on the other hand had a broader appeal being part of HL2 bundle and later through Free 2 Play.

Now that I think about it, Overwatch reminds me more of Monday Night Combat then it does TF2.

Seems Overwatch has been added to the Battle.net application. Is it almost time!?

Nothin here. It's apparently a pretty exclusive beta for mostly streamers and YouTube people at the moment?

Played the beta. It was ok. Probably won't buy it. Playing the different classes was fun and I managed to get decent w/ like three of them but it seems really hard to find balance with all of them. Everyone seems to play the same 4-5 people that are OP, especially that fucking heavy weapon mini gun shit guy. But I never liked TF2 all that much either so.

Played the beta. Fucking loved it. Will definitely buy it. I had seen the videos of the various heroes before playing, so I knew which ones I'd want to try, and I wasn't disappointed by any of them. Tracer is probably my favorite hero because she's incredibly fast, and you can gain health back when you rewind time which keeps her from being paper-thin. It's annoying that people are already starting with "X CHARACTER IS OP," but people are dumb, so that's bound to happen. Outside of that, the community so far has been pretty friendly, and the game has a ton of polish and nice features that give it a more competitive feel (stuff like "play of the game" and upvoting players at the end of a round). I also like that they removed the need for ammo.

And THANK GOD Blizzard didn't go with a F2P model. So sick of those.
