Thousands expected for Anti-Gay Rally, less than 100 show-up, including Crack-Head Marion Barry

The National Organization for Marriage and Bishop Harry Jackson were expecting thousands of "Christians" to show up at today's rally in Washington, DC that was supposed to intimidate the City Council, which recently cast a preliminary vote in favor of recognizing same-sex marriages.

New Poll: 42% (+9%) now say same sex couples should be allowed to legally marry (national poll)

brownshirt is a word with a specific meaning, which is not "anyone in a brown shirt"

aaaaaaaaaah 50% don't hate gay people
why do you cling to that
why do you cling to that idiotic, untrue statement
just because someone votes against gay marriage doesn't mean they actively hate gay people
get that through your head already
these people do not think "oh god i hate them awesome" they are slow on the uptake and long for older, nostalgic times or they are worried that it will make a mockery of the religious aspect of marriage but they might support civil unions or or or who knows
do some folks actively hate gay people? yes, but not 50%

also anti-zionism != anti-semitism hth but since overbear called me a nazi i mean there's really no point in arguing with him anymore nor joe since he just advocated mass murder for people who don't agree with him which makes him just as bad as the bigots

Personally I believe greatly in the separation of Church and state.

but, is that separation from the view of the state, or from the church? Two very distinct things.

and on another note, the constitution does not say anything about sexual preference equaling rights.

"you don't allow someone to live a normal life because you don't approve of who they love" is too long, and it's the same as hating someone anyway. so you call it whatever you want, i'll call it hate. when they stop acting like they hate gays, i'll stop saying it.

it's not hate and you are being disingenuous by calling it that
"gay people are bad" is not the same as "i don't want my church to marry gay people because it doesn't agree with my religion but if they want rights as a couple i guess i couldn't oppose that"
the world might be in shades...... of grey.....

shades of grey is what allows evil in. Once you subjectively start changing your morals based on what is transpiring around you, and how the world wants you to be, you lose the very essence of what you are.

Stop conforming to what is around you and stick with what you believe is right and true. If that means no to gay, so be it.

describing things as pure evil justifies doing evil to them though in the name of good
torture arabs because they are the bad guys and we are the good guys
it's dehumanization

how is "let's take away the dignity and clothing of these prisoners who are but animals to us and degrade them" not dehumanization

it's why pretty much every war has soldiers doing ghastly things to innocents; they dehumanize the enemy to help them deal with the fact that they are murdering them
