map making help please

Ok i did all of that exactly like you. I had to change very little. But when I compile I am still not getting anything. Could it be the Game Parameters in the Run Map (F9) thingy? In the Game Parameters I have

-dev -console -cstrike +set deathmatch 1

That is what I think some tutorials said to put... But I think that might be the reason or maybe something I changed in expert mode from another tutorial.

What did you put in the expert settings? I think I did something there that messed everything up.

Fine, let me tell you what the current compiling situation is:

1. No compile log whatsoever. Whenever I click on run map and then click on ok, it exits me out of worldcraft.

2. Whenever I click on ok in the Run Map thing it might be compiling without a log but still I have no BSP file.

3. I want people, to help me, with this problem.

Could I just email one of you my map and see if you can compile it? I dont have aim or anything like that but if one of you want to try to compile my map I will email it to you.

Thatsa not supposed to happen...

supervol at eden dot rutgers dot edu. Please don't write a post back spelling out the e-mail address. I'll see if I can compile it or not. As far as worldcraft goes, I'd suggest reinstalling, or going to version 3.3 (some people have reported problems with 3.4 and XP).

How do you make overviews? Are they hard to make? Do you have to download another program to make them? If you do I won't bother with overviews.

No, there's a way you can make them using regular Half-Life I believe - but your map needs to compile first, so concentrate on that for right now.

BAD. VERY BAD. I was trying to make another map. (ovbiously havent finished my first due to compiling trouble) But now when i save the map it COMPLETELY EXITS ME OUT OF WORLDCRAFT!! Whats wrong?
