I was thinking of making a rats style map of under a christmas tree, youd be running around packages and all that mess.

That's what I was thinking too, but I thought I'd go with something more original. Somebody HAS to have done this already.

I'm gonna make some kind of hotel in a snowe landscape with a Christmas tree inside. Probably de_
It's just that it's not easy to determine what size of brush you have to make at the beginning... you know, I'm talking about the scenario where you make a big brush at the very beginning, and later you realise it's too small and you curse, and trash the computer because you have to add some ground and such...

Scaling issues? Make a spawn and base your map off that. Or just memorize some of the scales: players are 72 units tall, 32 units wide, and I think either 36 or 48 units high when crouching.

Everything is scaled for you in source. Just look at the textures. And the spawns are player models.

Anyone has a model of an Xmas tree? Can't find it in the standard ones.
Or do we have to make one out of brushwork?

Yeah the bots are really good despite everyone always bitching about them. If more people would have tested their maps with bots during the Halloween pack there would have been a lot less little errors in their maps.
Lookin good bobjones.
