what do you need for the server to be "ready for tonight"? it's up in the state it was when we took it down a couple weeks ago. do you need to change anything? do you have access to change it?

I still can't ftp to it. I don't think I'm going to do it tonight anyway.

So, the first version is ready. I know there are some things I need to improve. For example, in the hallway with the rotating books there is a door. I'm thinkin about adding a room behind that and add a room on some other place too to make the map a bit bigger.
I also think the bombsites are not on optimal locations... if anyone has suggestions on where else I can place them please feel free to tell.

What can you expect?

-Bugs. Triggered shit that doesn't work optimally.
-Props having green shadows. I know what causes this I just yet don't know how to fix it, but I'll find out
-Doors that don't open correctly and spin through the walls. I know I have to fix that too
-The map being a bit too small for a larger amount of players. I think that's the biggest challenge for me to fix
-Odd and abnormal lighting that needs fixage
-For those who played Doom 3, you can expect a lot of sounds from that game
-People saying the map is not scary at all
-People saying the map sucks
-Not to have a nav, txt and res file yet. I always make those when the map is truly finished
-A map that is more a "oh look at that ghost ooooo!" rather than a real purely gameplay-focussed map

So, have fun running around in the real life representation of my house.

My map is the opposite and people will likely enjoy yours more.

The eye room trigger causes my game to crash to desktop. edit- also the green one around the one table.
and you forgot to buildcubemaps with HDR : p

edit-
-fix the "no physics model for agib.mdl" etc etc error.
-maybe use a non-default door sound for your doors.
-Having the Ts jump out of their spawn is likely a bad idea. I would add a clip-brush staircase so they can rush out with ease.

I love all the scary stuff and the custom textures / paintings / sounds. It does seem small but I havn't played it fully yet (because I keep crashing to desktop!)

Boo’s map has convinced me that I need to add a lot more floaty pop-up scary crap to my map.

Yeah me too.

Great map though, Boo! I was genuinely frightened in parts of the map. This is really a great halloween map.

Time to extract the extract.

Also, I took Alyx to lover's lane / makeout point and she totally denied my advances

I would also like to add that the orange box is fuckin sweet.

oh fucking awesome.

yeah orange box pwns. btw there was a Lost reference someone screenshotted in the SA thread for ep2. A faded dharma logo and a computer monitor with the numbers.

In the coming days I will hopefully throw together a simplistic dark and scary map for the map pack that will probably be composed mostly of sexy ep2 foliage models and of course, boatloads of pumpkins.

For some reason I can't get the texture to work for the pumpkin. It's gotta have something to do with the way they split the materials from the models in two gcfs. Or I am missing something really stupid.

I heard that Ep2 uses a different version of .vtf files than all the others. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I have heard of people having similar texture problems when trying to use them in their stuff.
