In all honesty, I think it's because you post saying "OK in 2 hours, get on the server". People need more time to read the post and find out if they can join. I don't even see most of the playtest posts until it's too late, and I really enjoy going to them. Just schedule it a day or two in advance and it should work out a little better.NIPPER wrote:We definitely need to stress test the maps more. As opposed to one night where we muster 5-10 people to play them for 15 minutes tops. It takes too much time and effort to round up people though. :?
Halloween mappack 2007?

I always post when I think the beta will be ready at least a week in advance and it never makes any difference.
It’s not like it matters if a couple extra j2ers know. We only ever get 10-15 max and times when we do get more than that like with the abstract maps it only lasts for one mapcycle. Plus we would need to do multiple tests and people lose interest after beta 1. Even back when you needed a reserved slot to get in a map test people would stop showing up after the first beta.
So basically, we need to release public betas and just sit back and wait months to receive bits of feedback. It’s just not worth the effort as far as I’m concerned.

The last few times I've seen you post you've been saying get on the server in at 9pm when it's like 5pm (or something of the sort). I tend to look for threads that specifically are dedicated to a map test, so if it's hidden in another thread where you announce it, I (along with others) will probably miss it.

I'd like to be there for the tests, but ehhh... 3am in the middle of the week is a bit extreme.
