Steam Update for SDK

Post by Commando » Wed Nov 07, 2007 5:26 pm

Well I just got a new update. And when I open hammer every thing is new. The camra does not work. And there are lines all over the grids.

Any ideas. Says can't load filesystemopendialog.dll

and

FATAL ERROR

Missing material "editor/flotnocull". Go to Tools | Options | Game Configurations and verify that your game directory is correct.

I think I'm gonna kill those idiots at Valve. This is yet another update that fucks up more than it fixes! I have the same problem.
These fucking retards better fix that shit quick. I'm tired of their messes.

Yeah but all the Orange Box SDK stuff works, so I'm quite happy with the update!

Lighting preview, cool. Doesn't work for me though. fserdfpaifhapzwojsasdadfexropnjk

Source Engine 7 games work fine (Portal, Ep2, TF2), but the others don't. To revert back to the old SDK, add this to your steam shortcut (target field), and restart steam. Haven't tried it myself yet, but it should work.

-applaunch 211 -beta sdk -engine ep1

Shaded surfaces doesn't work and lighting preview sucks, but the nodraw button is killer, as is the new entity dialog. Shows you whats different about the current entity and the on you're changing to.

You still can't compile cubemaps in source 2007 games, so basically the new hammer is worthless

Hey you can see HL2 achievements in the materials now.

I dig the nodraw and the show detail sprites/models buttons.

I’m gonna try a simple spam-off cp_ map before I try to make anything really cool.

Does anyone know how to block the CS:S textures from showing up in the texture browser?

Right now, I can't tell whether some belong to TF2 or CS:S and it takes a shitload of time to load all the textures.

So am I the only one that's gonna continue mapping for CS:S?

And why do these guys at Valve keep bringing out updates that fuck up everything? I want to continue working on my map dammit.
