Changed the texture and added an extra rendering option.
The water particles collide with the collision boxes of objects, so as you can tell with Mr. Bot Pyro there, it can look a little odd. Also, with this texture I'm using, the point of collision doesn't look as smooth, but I feel I'm on the right track. Gonna see if it's possible to add splashes at the points of collision, and hopefully tone down the amount particles I'm using.
Also, the particles only collide with other players. If you go walking in there yourself, it just flows right through you.

wolsk 1, kod 0
Wolsk has made a few maps, but they are extremely poor quality and make me question if he really has any idea what he's doing. I think it's very cool of him to go around offering help to others, but I'm not sure if he's the best person to get help from.
KoD feels the same way, but I guess he's more assholish about it?
(Not trying to bring ya down, Wolsk. Just callin em as I sees em.)

I saw a video like this shortly after the particle stuff was released (and this video gives a cool idea of how it will act in game):
However, the person who made the video didn't go into detail about how it was done (refused to and deleted any comment describing how it was made). I thought "oh cool - I'll learn about particles soon and remake that for my self."
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...I never did until earlier this week. I read a basic particle tutorial on the developer website and started working on the dynamic water. However, my final product looked horrible in comparison to what I remember was in the video (but it functioned just like it...sorta), so I went back and searched for the video again and found the above video instead, and with it a nice little download link for the water.
I replaced my particle system in my little test map with that one, but it didn't work, so I had to go back and forth and compare values to see what was different and what needed to be changed (only differences were the textures, some alpha settings, and minor adjustments such as animation rate being off by 0.1 or something, etc.).
That gave me what you see in the screenshot in the first page. All I did in the second screenshot was change the texture and add an additional rendering mode to help keep the particles smoothed together.
I'll make necessary adjustments to the particle system as I get closer to that part of the map.
If you're interested in downloading this particle, you can grab it here.
If you want to know how the map is going, I added trees (and gave up on snow)!
The track wraps around one final little spot and will move on to the next stage of the map.
