Episode 2 models to portal?

Post by Optics » Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:15 am

I want to use the episode 2 foliage models in my portal level but I'm not sure how I would do this.

I moved the episode 2 (props_foliage) folder from gcfscape into the portal models folder and they do appear but with the purple and black checkers of death.

any help?

I think you need to move the textures as well, not just the props.

Don't forget that when you release a version of your map, you'll have to compile the models and their textures inside of it. You shouldn't need to do that when you're testing though.

Models are compiled with a directory of where the materials for that model are. You're still having the missing texture issue because the model does not know to look in portal/materials/models. The only way you can fix this is to recompile the model with the new directory information.
