[CS:S] cs_crystal_lake

Just wanted to share some progress on a map I've been working on for Halloween. It is a CS:S hostage rescue map that is set at Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th movies. The locations in the map are generally in the spirit of many of the movies although not intended to be a recreation of any particular film.

We are doing a map battle at the JGC clan and we are planning a party for Halloween. Like the Christmas party we hosted, we'll be playing lots of J.2 maps from the previous Halloween map packs. The whole J.2 crowd will be invited again and I hope we have as much fun as we did around Christmas.

All comments, suggestions and flames are welcome!

Koko, I'm shooting for a play test on Wednesday night and then a final version by the following Wednesday.

That seems too symmetrical to me (it might just be the angle) - but, i'd recommend more displacements on the cliff or pushing it further back or giving it a fat V shape.


Make a post with server info, a time, and date, and we'll probably have some people participate in the Halloween festivities.

nipperhouse and de_haunts might make it to rotation fo the halloween event
king furbys xmas map is pretty cool. also we need to add the paintball map our server the layout is cool but the
blank textures make it look like a shitty orangex map. still fun tho.

For those of you interested in participating, I'll be running a play test of this map tomorrow, Wednesday, at 4:00 pm cst. Look here for the download link shortly before 4:00 tomorrow.

After the play test, please provide as much feedback as possible. I'll have about another week to make adjustments and improvments then my October becomes too busy for mapping. Hope to see you there!

The map is complete but I've run into some issues packing up the materials. This could take a while to sort through so, unfortunately no play test today. Sorry for the delay. Hopefully it will be tomorrow or Friday.

Oh yeah, for some reason the zip file won't download correctly with google chrome. Use some other browser!

Known issues:
Hostage locations are not final. They were not cooperating and I will fix their asses!
Jason's grave is missing an inscription. My fault for not realizing it was a stock texture and not including in the pak. Please let me know if there is anything in the map that is wonky.
