make sure you don't make your maps too big, it's better to go small and detailed than big and boringWolsk wrote:Wolsk wrote:i don't know how to map. why am i even here posting the same stupid comment twice
also doors are always more trouble to you and the players of the map than they are worth. any map where i have to open more than one door to get to killing stuff is gonna be snooze
besides that looking good

Fuck off, Prolix.
What maps have you made?
I've made plenty and never finished them.
That's a room idea which is the point of this thread.
Also, lol Bad Apple room.

is it possible to have walls move around? how about a map, something like hall of death, but at the start the walls slowly push the teams toward each other

Except instead of a wall, it's a trigger_hurt. So you advance or die.

Make a giant chess board.
That can be a fun hide and seek place.
Make the pieces move, too.

Illuminati conspiracy room
moon landing room
small room (scaled down textures)
cog room (machinery moving with cogs everywhere)
snow blizzard room (mass amounts of snow or rain)
Inverted texture room (dust or office textures but inverted in photoshop for whacky colours)
Alphabet factory, conveyor belts carrying colourful letters, everything else is dull coloured
Willy Wonka bubble room (drift slowly up towards the fan as a teleport)
Evolution of art hallway, (starting from the beginning of the 20th century building up to modern day art)
