Need help in counter-strike mapping

Post by sin » Thu Aug 11, 2011 10:57 am

I made a map for Counter-Strike 1.6, hl1 engine NOT SOURCE

It's a big jailbreak map, it works fine and compiled fine but when there are 20+ players on, it kicks half of the players and shows error : Reliable channel overflowed

Help me!
I searched this for 1 year, i used hints, fixed water, removed extra stuff and still didn't work.
I can put the map here only if needed

Perhaps the issue can be found here, if not you should still bookmark this for future issues.

It's not a mapping error, not compiling either its in-game and its not from my Counter-Strike it happens to everyone.

But thanks anyway.

Reliable snapshot overflow comes from too many entities/surfaces being on the screen at the same time. You may not call it a mapping error, but it is something that's usually only fixable by the mapper.

It could be you have some incredibly complex architecture, extremely shitty breakables, or maybe you got a little too happy with the carve tool.

If you don't understand what MrBlip said, you can't fix your own problem.

He said there's too many entities/surfaces on the screen at one time. That means cut your map up, make large walls, divide it into more visleafs, or reduce detail.

Why don't you post a few screenshots instead?

I downloaded your map.
It won't load.

Code: Select all

Warning: Unable to open sound/jb_slaughter/Levitate.wav for transfer
Warning: Unable to open sound/jb_slaughter/bullet.wav for transfer
Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/jb_slaughter/Levitate.wav'
Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/jb_slaughter/street'

However much care I had has evaporated.
