That sounds remarkably improbable.

Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
i'm sure what everyone here means in their own little way is the fact that you already RE-compiled before getting permission to use the map. this shows you know nothing of true mappers code.
i'd be hard-pressed to see NIPPER give anyone access to anything after completely breaking his code of ethics.
re-comp'ing is wrong, just don't do it.

Well i do understand your mapper code because i map but some of my own maps have been adjusted to fit game modes and in the end its just that people enjoy my art for their game never mind the little entetie tweaks.
There are also enough mappers generous enough to hand people their vmf aslong as they get the propper credit. Still i understand where youre comming from.
Also to quote some ancient dude who thought he was the son of god, let he without sin throw the first stone.
meaning i am sure all if you moralist have no problem stealing videos movies music and games via the internet.
Its just morally wrong when it comes to your own maps and property isnt it.

Not letting you recompile a map and piracy are two completely different things. It's not "throwing stones," it's nipper making sure no one is stealing his maps or releasing them without him knowing.

Entity work is totally different. And does not require decompiling.

Is it? if you screw around with enteties you can make people really hate the map if you're out to destroy a mappers name.

Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
Come on guys, this guy has stated his purpose, even given his opinion on the whole de=compiling issue with his OWN creations. Cut him a break, wait for NIPPER's response, and go from there. Obviously, he has good intentions.
I'm impressed that he came here, in general. Many people would say "fuck it" and just go ahead to release their decompiled/edited version of a map.

In some other time and space, I found time for a new signature.
