Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
Hi, Nipper.
You didn't accept me on friends and i cant send any PMs on here yet cause i am not cool enough or something.
So i hereby like to ask your permission to edit your map clue for use in ttt (trouble in terrorist town) in gmod.
Nothing structural is concerned just to add and compile cubemaps and edit the light switch among others.
If you respond ill be more clear with what edits i am thinking about.
thank you.

(Hi, i'm not nipper)
It works pretty nicely as a TTT map already. What's wrong with the cube setup? I haven't seen weird reflection issues.

can't stand the map as a ttt map tbh, c4 is godtier (if the one im thinking of has the light siwtch in the lobby where people just spam the fuck out of it). if it would've been bigger it would be more appropriate. still a nice css map though.
Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
Well the thing is NIPPERs Clue map is always being abused as a ttt map by someone who called it ttt_clue_pak
Whenever you use all your nice souce settings clue and ttt_clue_pak get a silver green shine, also i am sure the light switch could have never been meant to be a annoying spam object because it was meant for css but maybe NIPPER will come on and set me straight.

Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
Someone decompiling a Nipper map? Inconceivable.
No idea what silver green shine you're talking about.
If the light bothers you so much, correct it with EntEd. Don't go decompiling.

Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
When we play clue on CSS the switch is used nonstop.
As for the shine, it will happen if you rename the map and break the cubemaps. Use EntEd on the original clue, run the modded version ONLY on the server, and provide players with the ORIGINAL clue map via fastdl. (If you offer a modded version to players they won't be able to play on servers not screwing with things due to map conflicts).

Re: Permission to edit Clue from NIPPER
well i also want to make some other tweaks because id like to make it work better in ttt so i am just gonna wait for NIPPERs response .
I don't want to take credit in any way or form i just want to make a fun map remain fun for ttt by adjusting it a bit for a gamemode it was never meant for. Also in ttt people love to shoot each other for stuff so if you adjust the light or make it a traitor button only you can make things way more exciting.
Ill just wait for what NIPPER has to say.

Oh, that sort of tweaks. I was just thinking basic things. Nevermind
(Also, decompiling a map screws it up)

You can also search the forums for Nipper's opinions on decompiling.
Or you can just wait until he comes here and tells you what he's already told many others. I guess that works too.

Maps do not belong to their creator. They are a piece of art for everyone to enjoy.
Their true owner, is human patrimony.
It belongs in museum, so everyone can see.

You're right. I'm gonna take my chisel, head to the nearest museum and correct some statues.
