Silicon Valley

New HBO show from Mike Judge, Silicon Valley is about a fellow who creates a fancy pants compression algorithm and starts a company in the buzzing world of technology.
The show is pretty funny, and isn't completely ignorant to things us nerds appreciate and understand.
I do have my issues, as with any show. For instance, one of the 5 main characters is a douche. Given that I am an extreme critic and hate most shows, the fact that I like this one should be worth something. Check if out if you have the resources.

IMDB: 8.4/10
Metacritic: 84/100
Rotten Tomatoes: 94/100 Critic & 95/100 Audience
KoD: 8/10

sv is good on ratings*, reviewed well, unlikely to conclude before the creative team wants.

*though post-GoT** time-slot obviously helps.

**also True Detective -> Girls -> Looking did pretty well if I remember correctly, so someone knows wtf is up.

***and I think HBO kinda needs niche (read: cheaper than GoT) content during the off-months (esp. as they get ready for HBOgo without cable, where it will probably be relatively easy to cancel). John Oliver (and Real Sports) is great but maybe not worth $8-15/month.

having said all that, still need to watch most of SV. Looking I assume has more gay sex, so still number 1 sfbay HBO comedy of 2014. (there is a joke about the lack of non-straight-white-men in tech jobs, and the lack of non-white non-gay-male Looking characters, but I can't get them together)
