Custom Maps

Post by alpha » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:19 pm

Hey guys- I noticed the 3rd server is dedicated to only lazytown.

Have any of you guys played some of the decent custom maps out there?

cp_crazedacre

cp_floodzone2_v6

cp_wolf

ctf_mach2

I've played them all can say they're all decent maps, some even enjoyable for long periods of time.

More maps available here

Thanks for the links, alpha. But chances are nothing is going to happen without both some images, and some specific feedback about which maps are worth playing. I believe it has already been stated that we are not going to put every custom map made on the server.

we will put custom maps on the server if

a) the person requesting them has personally tried them and gives their word they like the map
b) it is a "playable" maps.
c) there is a download link in the post so we don't have to hunt for it.

what is a "playable" map?
- supports both small and big games (16-32 players)
- no major bugs (stuck spawn points, broken functionality, etc.)

(partial copy/paste from another forum thread with apologies)

I'd like to 2nd ctf_mach2. A great, well made map. Whoever made this knew what they where doing (no dieing when reclassing in spawn is always a good sign). I've put many, many hours into this one and most servers I've played it on seem to really enjoy it (in game player feedback).

Played it with 32 players and as few as 4. It's just complex enough that 32 players can really enjoy it without feeling cramped, while 4 players will find it small enough that they won't log off in frustration.

Can lead to some very intense games with a full server. Not quite as intense as a full LazyTown, but still very non-stop assault'ish and in your face'ish.

I think Godling is suggesting we make TF #2 a 24/7 Mach2 instead of a Lazytown.

I think both maps are very similar in style and compliment each other very well. Rotating both of these maps on a 24/7 basis could be very popular.

I think Lazytown is to popular to remove entirely from 24/7 and would result in a some fairly disgruntled players and angry posts (just a feeling mind you).

lazytown will get old soon, it was a lot of fun for a couple weeks but people get tired of stuff eventually.
