Map exploit question
If we even go on to cp_roomtime_justice is it a map exploit to put a sentry inside the enemy spawn since there are no spawn barriers?

Re: Map exploit question
Not reeeeeaaally but it's a dick move, if anything though it's the opposing team's fault for letting an engi get a sentry in there in the first place. If it's opposed by the players though then one could simply RTV to nm3

Re: Map exploit question
I am going to have to say yes it is a dick move and sort of an exploit. You cannot get into any other spawns in any other map so to remain consistent with the rest of all maps for tf2 i would consider it an exploit.

Re: Map exploit question
Think of it this way: if you're playing rooftime, maybe you deserve a sentry in your spawn.
Re: Map exploit question
If you want to empty the server and get people angry then go ahead and put as many sentries as you want. To me it is an exploit, but Hippie is a better source for smart words or any other admin.

Re: Map exploit question
Sentry in the spawn is not an exploit. Rooftime justice was made with the idea that anything goes even sentry in the spawn. It does not give someone an unfair advantage, and is extremely difficult. It would take a team effort to play that poorly and to have an enemy team coordinated enough to pull it off.
Re: Map exploit question
I've already asked a similar question about ctf_dirtwork and getting into the spawn from the windows where the Snipers usually sit. Everyone seemed to be okay with it and don't count it as an exploit, this is pretty much the same thing.
Re: Map exploit question
If the map allows it, then it's permitted. Camping the spawn is only punishable if it's done using a map exploit or hack. Every team has the capacity to work together and put an end to it if it bothers them.
This is how it's always been and it has never been a problem.

I'd rather people just go ahead and ask than to just take a wild guess though. That's just me though. :P
Re: Map exploit question
You'll probably kill the server.
Re: Map exploit question
Implying the map itself hasn't already killed it.Porky wrote:You'll probably kill the server.

To clarify, "if the map allows it" is more "if the map is obviously not trying to prevent it"Parasyte wrote:If the map allows it, then it's permitted. Re: Map exploit question
On the map pl_metropolis_b5 if a player rides the elevator continuously not letting access to the enemy team is this considered a map exploit ?
