It happened to Shepard first. I challenged his identity, and then I think he took me off his friends list. Then a few minutes later, raregold had the same message. He somehow knew about Shepard though.

new password and everything.


See Sheperd sent the same message and I fell for the the link and then bam i got kicked form my account for a few mins.



Got it back just in time to stop the basterd from buying games. But the jackass cleared my frinds list.

Raregold, your account might at some point in the future (weeks) get disabled by steam. Make sure you have evidence (like a paypal transaction ID) for a purchase you've made on that account ready for when it happens so you can prove it's yours.

today i got what looked like steam prompt saying my authenticated session had expired and i needed to log in again. it looked exactly like a steam window and shit and didnt look suspicious so i just did it without thinking anything of it other than it must be a new steam update thing

then someone mentions they got that prompt too, and said no and closed out of it, and seeing as how he was still playing it means it didnt boot him aka might not be a steam window? idk so i got paranoid looked in the steam client update notes, nothing about adding it, and i hadn't updated to the feb 4th update yet so im starting to worry. i haven't run any untrustworthy exes (my windows box is for gaming only) idk how it would get on there but i changed my password just in case, i needed to anyway.

i also changed my steam theme in case its a program designed to look like the default steam look so if it is something bad i can spot it.

chances are it is a part of steam LOL and im being retarded over nothing but uhhh keep an eye out

If your friend's game didn't minimize/get kicked from the game when that message popped up, I'd be pretty suspicious of whatever happened :o

i dont even remember who it was, or when it was in relation to when he talked about it (aka was in game) but if he was able to say no and still be playing it must mean something
