man ive been recording demos like any time im playing anymore, which is generally good practice anyway i think cause i trust demos more than replays, but theres too much to really know exactly where to go for the good stuff. ill see if i cant export the voice chat audio or something and have it play in the background while i do something else and note the good bits.

if there's no way to actually pull the chat files from the game (and by observing demo replay at >100% speed, I assume each time you speak it's saved as an individual internal file in the demo), you should be able to export to avi right? And from there you can ffmpeg to ogg or something to play as just audio. still googling though.

edit: if you're gonna do what I'm doing, and archive any time you play with demos, I suggest learning how to talk with voice_loopback 1, otherwise you'll be silent in the demo. I keep it on anyway to make sure my mic sounds ok.

There is a console command that save voice chat as a wav files. I can't remember what it is now and I don't believe it gives you any kind of a time stamp.
