I need ideas for a map!
Post suggestions that you would like to see in a map such as: certain layouts, architecture, gameplay elements, map design and whatever else you can think of off the top of your head.
I have recently been mulling over a map based around open aerial combat and high player-maneuverability.

I don't have any layout designs off the top of my head, but I could come up with some after a bit of TF2. What I would really like to see is a map that utilizes the new textures and themes from the asian maps like koth_suijin or the new mvm maps

Are you talking about arbitrarily gating areas off based on time, or having a bunch of areas with different "historical" themes? Because one is typically a pretty bad idea, and the other relies on a bunch of custom textures. Which yeah, massively increases file size. Go delete pl_angkor from your maps folder and redownload it from the server to see that concept in action, though that's half custom textures and what not, half just being a huge map.willbob91 wrote:how about a payload map with different areas based on different time periods?

Make a circus theme KoTH map with the big-top in the middle. Put giant circus Mann-canons near each spawn that can fire players onto the top of the tent (high map ceiling) and make the interior of the tent large enough to include a high-wire with platforms on either end for soldiers, demos, or anyone who uses the canons and drops through holes in the tent. Maybe some stands/bleachers around the interior of the tent; make it look legit with some good props that we can fight around. This could also work as a 3 point CP map, depending on how large you want to make it; lots of good circus elements you could expand on.

It would also probably work best as a koth map. I'll have to look into this concept once I get a better grasp of hammer.
