Hey, let's get rid of double overheal already.

why was it changed when there was no consensus, was there a vote I missed?

Is this temporary?

Looking through the thread it looks like it's a mix of people for the change or people who don't care either way against the few who want it to stay the same.

It doesn't hurt to try it anyway. I personally didn't notice the change when I was playing last night until I came to this thread.

Personally I'm glad we're actually trying something different with it instead of ignoring all the complaining.

I've definitely noticed a difference. I've noticed that I definitely have to be less reckless when I'm pocketed now, which is good. Means getting butt plugged is now less of a mindless affair. Heavies are still a terror when properly supported but at least now snipers can counter them again and every other class has a chance if they play perfectly (fun fact, all classes have burst weapons with maximum damage output between 500 and 600 points in a full clip).

Depends on how well it's received would be my guess.

Now would probably be the best time for everyone to voice their opinions on where the issue should go from here.

Could the person (or group of people) who made this change please speak up?

Its really weird that a change this big was made with no announcement or even information about why it was done, if its permanent or not, if its not permanent how long it going to be, then how a decision will be made, etc, etc.

Its like if double damage was suddenly introduced with no explanation whatsoever.

I played a little bit last night and it didn't seem like anyone was bothered by the change. I, for one, quite enjoyed ending medic heavy combos in one shot. Good work mastermind. I didn't believe anything would ever really change, but i am glad to be wrong

Not is' more like if 1.2x damage was suddenly introduced after a long thread with much discussion on the topic had been open for months. A shift from 2x overheal to 1.5x is really not much considering.

Just give it a go and see how everyone likes or dislikes it.

As long as we still have the slow overheal decay, I'm all for this change.

I mean, Im still up for having double overheal, but i do think that when the server pop is below 25 it should be at standard overheal.

I've been playing a lot of soldier, demo and pyro the past few nights and haven't noticed a difference with average server pop. Didn't even notice the extra overheal was gone until someone mentioned it. When the server is full, things can still be a bit cluster-fuckish (some maps far more than others) and a little extra overheal would be beneficial.

I would still suggest keeping the extra overheal for 25+ players, but only if headshots can kill a fully overhealed heavy. If backstabs can kill regardless of overheal, headshots should as well.

Where is the 4x overheal that everyone wanted clearly admins don't read the thread well.
