aren't cosmetics disabled in competitive play on most tf2 leagues?

i mean if you wanted to play tf2 "seriously" i wouldn't think 32 slot player pugs would be the avenue. i mean half the time i played on tf4 people were being hilariously offensive and over the top so it's not like I was there to get gud

heck i'm pretty sure there's a mod floating around that disables cosmetic items on client-side (i know one for dota2 exists and i assume they enforce sv_pure2 on matchmaking severs)

Cosmetics are actually usually shown off in the pre-scrim or pre-match in the competitive scene. It also helps with team bonding to have some fun with cosmetic load-outs. You will find people who refuse to use cosmetics because they think it will give them away, but those are few and far to find.

if you don't like the hats or friendlies, play tfc instead.
Steam is BLU_Collar, PSN is GGLinear, and my LoL account name is Somber Rites.

It's been years since I've spoken with any of you, but if you ever want to play or just talk, feel free to contact me.
