From what I've noticed it's a case of people losing interest. Backed up by the fact one can spend a hour trying to fill the server, just so it can become empty again upon the next map.

TF2 is dying, which is to be expected. I'm surprised it lasted this long with all the blatantly OP & UP weapons, bugs and lack of updates (though I will give them credit for attempting to balance the game).

That's fine, though. As a community, I expect us to move on to other games that we can play together. There's CS series, Planetside 2, Payday 2, (I'm hoping) Renegade X, Terraria, Starbound, Sven and a lot of "LAN party" indulgences like Depth, AoE2, Civ V, Unreal Tournament, etc. At this point we have PLENTY to choose from, so I don't wanna hear any excuses. (Except MOBAs. Fuck MOBAs.)
