Why the server LAGS now with 30 ppl?

Hello,

Thanks to everyone who showed. I had an awesome time. Yeah pings were starting to suck, but I didn't even care. I was extremely happy with the turnout. I couldn't believe we actually filled the server up.

It so nice to be able to play with 32 people, and not have ONE Camper, Whiner, Hacker, Lamer, or just plain annoying player! To me thats amazing.

I would like to make this a weekly thing, hopefully by next week we can arrange for our old favorite maps to be put back in rotation. And maybe we can calm some of the lag down somehow. Hopefully as the word spreads, more and more people will show up, and we'll be able to keep a game going all day!

I'll start a new sticky topic about this soon. Let me know what you all think.

cs.joe.to was always laggy with that many people. There's now a mysql server running on that box (for the server status script) which I think may be adding to the lag somewhat.

I've been looking at renting a dedicated server - prices are frankly outrageous on the West Coast as far as I can see.

Knoid, just change my server as needed. I know it can handle the 32 players without lag. Remove the superhero mod as needed. I think if we cure the lag people will come. YOU have total access to the box. I mean hell, on a t1, dual processors with 1 gig of ram. After all, that is the reason why I got a T1 and the server I did.

Hey everyone,

Shoot!!! I missed it. I will see you guys next Tuesday. Haven't play CS often since to good old joe.to days...move on to better games...like Call of Duty, but I miss my joe.to friends the most though.

No time to chat on call of duty or BF, but the thing I enjoy CS most is reading the chats and watching the action when I am dead.
