earlier on the VGAs Wheatley was nominated for best character, and was talking through the feed of a Russian satellite "LANTHANUM"

which links to rattmann's twitter which apparently just woke up and started spewing bullshit.

This is probably imo going to end up being Portal related, judging by the use of the Rattmann twitter, but I find it odd to go through a whole ARG for just a DLC.

either way, it seems something is going on, and whatever it ends up being it should be good, because, yanno, Valve.

I started following this tonight, which is coinciding greatly with my studying for finals.
From what I've heard the Rattman twitter was and is still run by Dougley, the person who WAS heavily involved in the previous Portal 2 ARG, specifically the one who rejected the invite to Valve, and then derailed the ARG with false feeds, INCLUDING his running of the account.
The Wheatley stuff is interesting, but I don't see any reason to trust the Rattman twitter account, he may just be trying to get attention by reviving the account as people start to notice the Wheatley video messages.

oh shit thanks for that. the rattmann twitter waking up i thought was supposed to be the big sign that something is actually going on, without that it makes the whole wheatley video with the lambda symbol element just look like an easter egg.

I guess we'll see.

Since when do any elements have Greek letters for their symbols?

Lanthanum is signified by La. So far as I know, chemical symbols are internationally recognized with little variation. Yes, λ transliterates as "L", but I'm pretty sure Russian chemists would still recognize La as the symbol for lanthanum.

Every source I'm seeing points to this as being a new piece, at least in terms of us getting our hands on it, i.e. it's not one of the December 2007 pieces
Smash (Spuf mod) claims to know exactly whose piece it is and that he is indeed a valve employee, but doesn't know why it was released to the public.
