I played dota2 enough times to recognize that this so called "salt" is nothing more that an aggressive reaction of disbelief
towards a situation to which it's variables are usually orderly to the person.
Once again, the incredulity of the affected is a denial of his failure to discern the changes in variables or new arising patterns in the environment.

The term "salt" itself is a misappropriation of the idiom "to drop salt", which is seen as negative due to salt being considered valuable spice
throughout most of human history excluding modern times. But at the same time, the dropping of salt might be considered as gesture of abundance.
So much that in Japan, people throw salt to fed off the evil kami (spirits) which would usually torment less fortunate people.

Sorry for the nerd post ,but watching the video that neelpos post, literally made me lose some brain cells

Everyone gets salty at some point. Some people just deal with it better

Why does everyone use the phrase salty now anyway? In my day we just called it rage.

Also these dudes are probably hamming it up for their twitch streams and why does everyone stream themselves playing video games now?

Some things never change though: if I die it's either the games fault or my teams fault.

You mean to tell me that I can get on twitch, rage at counter-strike and turn a PROFIT!?
That used to only give you a hemorrhage.
