I know all this mc4 crap is getting annoying. But I just recently found this. If you were on mc4 from over a year ago, you will remember this. These were the golden mc4 times. Just mute the video if you don't want to listen to the German.
And for those that actually care, I translated the description:

Raid and attack people and not having to worry about power and land. Factions was fun while it lasted and I would play it but obviously it is pretty much dead.

I completely disagree. Factions is only dead if your stuck at the spawn and no one likes you so you dont get into a faction and you cry about it. I find Factions very fun with the mcMMO plugin to level stats and such. If you don't like mc1, then you don't like a better version of mc4.

I doubt that. If the discussion on it continues, the thread will likely be dumped, and the opposing user punished in some way. People have been warned to drop it on multiple occasions and yet they persist. Whining about it isn't gonna bring it back. If it comes back, it comes back. If not, oh well. Servers are made, then they die, then they are remade better, that is the cycle of J2.

Back on topic...

Warps were bad news for admins back in my administration days. You constantly get players bugging you to set warps and it gets extremely annoying. Also, there were rules saying you couldn't set warps within x amount of blocks of each other and most of the time when people bugged you for a warp, there would be a one 20 blocks away. Multiple homes are just as easy to use. All you need to do is set a home, tell your friends to teleport to you and set their own home and you're good. If anything, multiple homes is less work than warps..

For the party chats, I don't think they're a good idea, like mbaxter said, it kind of splits the community into their own 'chat groups' which doesn't allow new players to fit in well. Plus MC1 already has faction chat for that kind of thing.

On the topic of the chat being flooded, it wouldn't be any better with a chat plugin, you'd still have people using the 'global' chat as people do now, it'd just be for different things. Role-playing would probably move to a role-playing channel, but something else would step in a flood the chat in it's place.

Back on topic, (even though that i said above was on topic, but still) I still think they should have party on mc2. And I remember mc4, when it was a shitstorm of broken blocks. (Although when I got there it was a huge obsidian building with water streaming out of each corner to let you out.

i actully Liked mc4 because spaawn looked like shit, it made it harder (also the thing changed it was bedrock in 1.7.3? then obby)
