Re: Dark Souls: Ready to die
Played Dark Souls on the PS3 and it's definitely my favorite game released in the past 10 years. I bought it again for the PC, but I'm expecting it to be the one of the worlds shittiest ports.

It's a 100% port. Locked keyboard controls and rendered at 720p @ 30fps with no option to change it, outside of scaling it to whatever your native resolution is at.

I knew it wouldn't be long before the modders beat this game into something proper, but damn that was fast.

Walp. Attacked some NPC in blue armor at a fire. Now I seem to be pretty fucked. Spawn at fire, get attacked, die, spawn at fire.
I love it. He just keeps killing me.

Welcome to Dark Souls.
Don't attack NPCs, lulz. Try leading him off a cliff or into enemies. Or there's a man that removes your NPC aggro, but I don't know who that is offhand.

Re: Dark Souls: Ready to die
You can't get to Oswald until you beat the Bell Gargoyles, which are probably harder than the heartbroken soldier.
Avvatar: you're probably better off starting over and NEVER ATTACK AN NPC AGAIN. I know it can be tempting, but for your first playthrough, you generally want all the friends you can get. Never initiate, only retaliate. I mean, you can kill them all off before you beat the game if you want (that's what I did).
1 hour of play. SL15. Just entered the undead parish. About to leave for work, no idea if I'll be playing when I get back.

Re: Dark Souls: Ready to die
My first playthrough I attacked the undead merchant in the burg because a soapstone message thing said too.
I just restarted my character because I couldnt buy any arrows and alot of other shit that I like needed.
