NS2, Now on Steam!

Post by Eviltechie » Wed Sep 05, 2012 1:21 am

NS2 is now on steam!

Important facts:
  • There will be two versions of the game, standard and deluxe.
  • The deluxe comes with the soundtrack, art, and new special armor.
  • Those who have the black armor sill have it.
  • $25 for deluxe, $75 for a four pack
  • Everybody who preordered before this gets "a free copy of NS2 Standard Edition to give to a friend or stroke lovingly."

Additionally, joe.to will be hosting a NS2 server, starting now(ish).

It's been a bit buggy, but in theory you should be able to find us listed on the server browser. :)

So if someone loved me enough and happened to preorder they could send a bonus copy my way so I could see what all the buzz on these forums has been about Natural Selection? Without having to dip into my bank account which is being raped by only getting 9 hours a week at my minimum wage job this semester?

Because from what I've seen the games really do look neat and I regret never trying out the first one.

Pretty excited for a more people playing.

I don't mind so much that I paid 50$ for my preorder as much as now basically everyone will have the black armor :(

edit: turns out the new armor is another armor type they are adding. Everyone will still be jelly of our bad ass black armor B)

I was getting angry-pants because they're giving the fancy marine armor that I paid extra for away to everyone for free.
Research reveals they're not. It's another fancy armor. I get two fancy armors. Thought I'd share in case anyone else was also in the angry-pants scenario.

Oh, and Lecter threw an edit. That asshole.

EDIT: NVM, apparently you can still preorder.

Received this e-mail today,
Hey everyone,

Natural Selection 2 is now up on Steam and available for pre-order! We can hardly believe it, but we're #5 in Top-Sellers and are #1 Indie on Steam right now! We will be releasing the v1.0 in October.

We are also announcing our "Deluxe" edition, which you get for _free_ if you have already pre-ordered the game. This edition includes the full NS2 soundtrack, a digital art book, a new in-game marine model, and more.

As an extra thanks to all of you that have pre-ordered, we are also giving you a _free copy of NS2_! This gift copy will arrive on Steam soon and you will be able to give it to any friend you want to play with. See what you get here:

http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2 ... s_on_steam

Although the beta is now closed, if you haven't pre-ordered, we think you'll still want to do so. For a limited time, you can pre-order NS2 for $25 and get a free upgrade to the Deluxe edition (which will be $40). You can do that here:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/4920/

We're in the home stretch now and we're really excited. If you haven't played for awhile, you should try again: we've improved performance, balance and polish a LOT.

Thanks SO much for your support after all this time. Without it, I would surely not be sending you this e-mail today.

Says the same thing, although added information
For a limited time, you can pre-order NS2 for $25 and get a free upgrade to the Deluxe edition...

Seriously, this game is gold.

The new maps are awesome, but the old ones that are remastered are fucking GOLD.

All the old maps felt like new ones with all the fancy new graphics and shit they threw in there. It took me a whole match to realize, holy shit this is the same map I used to throw my youth away with.

You probably won't see me on any other game.
