There's been another big update.
The tiers have been flattened. Now you start with Accord frames (previously tier 1) and unlock frames from the other manufacturers. Each frame follows one of the Accord archetypes, and has it's own unique primary weapon as well as 3 unique skills and an "ultimate" which is restricted by both a cooldown and some sort of "powering up".
All resources have been reset and changed. Crafting and constraints have been changed. Leveling up your frame has been changed. Unlocking new frames has been changed and is far less linear.
The Chosen feature some new units, some new AI, and some events that have been changed so much they may as well also be new.
PvP should be much more balancable (note: not yet actually balanced, I'd guess) based on frame changes and their interaction with PvE. Notably, your custom PvE frame cannot be used in PvP, rather you will be given a specifically equipped PvP version of the frame.

As before, everything I do in this game is just fun.

I got into the closed beta a month ago and I'm really enjoying Firefall. With open beta on July 9th is there any thought to create a J2 army in the game? My character is named the same as I am here on the forums.

I am a little surprised you don't have an army set up yet.

I'm playing most every day since that last patch.
Character name Nieve Avvatar (Went ahead and got it changed. Took like 15 minutes. Which was about 12 mintues longer than it would have taken if I hadn't been logged in. Love R5 support.)
I reserved an army name, not sure it'll ever get used. J2 has a track record of never being able to properly field a group. So I'm kind of figuring I'll have to find some other active army if I actually intend to play somewhat frequently.
But then that gets hard because armies are currently capped at 20 players. The devs have said it's the only way they won't have to delete them all later. I figure armies will have to pay fees to increase their size? Earn it with XP? I don't know. Anyway, at the moment I don't see much point in joining or forming an army. Unless you're extremely active yourself, you probably won't be able to get into an army active enough to be worth being in, what with the retarded low cap.

Meh, seeing as how I'm not trying to join an army for playing yet for the reasons detailed above, I decided to go ahead and activate the army I've got reserved. Some bug. Can't do it right now.
