This mod is officially on steam and in its final beta test at the moment. It gets officially released on the 16th, a week from Monday. We should play it. All of us. Every one.

Isn't it something like 1000 players per server? I seem to remember that in one of the betas.

We've set up a j2 server. Password is j2. It's just sort sitting there at the moment. I'd love it if people had ideas on how to run this thing.

The wiki has some information, apparently you can load Lua mods serverside to enable things like invincible grapple ropes and such, I'm looking into that right now.

Is there supposed to be no Black Market and/or Vehicles on the map yet?

Yeah from what I saw at the moment there's not much draw to the J2 server (unless you updated it yesterday or so), I won't have time to look into it myself until say, January, but here's my suggestions for what to try adding:

• Black market access
• Free vehicles
• Character model customization if that's not part of the base black market plugin already
• Speed boost
• Invincible grapple cables

FYI, I already added 90% of what neel listed the day the server went up. The only thing not on there is the grapple cable thing. I also tried to modify the boost speed, but was unsuccessful.

Neat, I guess we hopped in between it being put up and that stuff being added then. And yeah I haven't seen anything concerning the cables yet, so I'm doubtful there's a plugin for the mod at the moment, I'll see what I can find.

Not a programmer though so don't expect much.

cables are done client side not server side which is why you can see your cable but not other players. I think that also means the breaking point is done that way too, so it would need a mod on the clients. If they don't have any checks in place you could find out how the bolo patch works and modify it to work on jc2mp.
