Re: Game of the Year 2013
So much of what has gotten lost in games is the story. This year, a ton of games had awrsome story telling, but I thought Infinite had the best.

Re: Game of the Year 2013
The best games I played from last year were pretty straightforward, lean arcadey games. PAC MAN Championship Edition DX+, Runner 2, and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed were the best ones.
I also enjoyed Gunpoint and Papers, Please for having strong gameplay mechanics and consistently good narratives that didn't overreach. Tomb Raider was probably the best AAA title I played.
Still really need to play Expeditions: Conquistador, Metal Gear Rising, and Wonderful 101.
Anyway: GOTY 2013 was Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Why am I the only one who voted for CoD: Ghosts?

Re: Game of the Year 2013
As an avid player of the cod series, im not a fan of ghosts. The maps are way too big for cod's style of gameplay, pretty much every single map has 10000 ways to get from point A to point B, a lot of the maps literally feel like a maze disguised as a battlefield. The graphics are odd to me, I'm not sure what it is about them. It's super hard to see people compared to black ops 2 who had a super clean look, or battlefield who pulls off the look that ghosts was going for betterWolsk wrote:Why am I the only one who voted for CoD: Ghosts?
Ghosts just feels weird, its like a downgraded version of mw3. I would much rather just go play black ops 2, which was about as close to perfect as a cod game can be
(I voted for GTA V)

I wasn't expecting a serious response to my question.

Re: Game of the Year 2013
Yeah the 1000 routes into every location coupled with the narrow FOV and terrible performance on my PC makes Ghosts really frustrating. I would add to that the completely asinine way they made "Operations" work.Muffin wrote: As an avid player of the cod series, im not a fan of ghosts. Actually if Aliens Colonial Marines ditched it's story it would have been a much better game.rockerboy5 wrote:So much of what has gotten lost in games is the story. This year, a ton of games had awrsome story telling, but I thought Infinite had the best.

Re: Game of the Year 2013
Guess I need to play tomb raider again. I remember liking it okay, but I had also just beaten all 3 Uncharteds and I remember those being quite a bit better.

Re: Game of the Year 2013
I'd say Tomb Raider is better than Uncharted's 1 and 3, but never comes anywhere near as good as 2. It was honestly a surprise of the year for me.
