But he tanks the boss for you ,and even messes up his aggro (as in the boss no longer runs you over)

Alternatively, you could just nut the hell up and beat one of the easiest bosses in the game.

Srsly. He can be a pain in the ass if you stay too close to him and he like locks onto you and chases you, but as long as you're far away he'll lean way back and slam down, at which point he blindly charges forward slowly and just sits there, at which point you just hack at his tail and ass cheek for 3-4 slashes, and then you get as far away as possible and he'll repeat it WITHOUT FAIL. Super easy mode.

OK so I beat the gaping asshole and then blighttown was like, a fucking breeze. I don't understand what all the complaints were about. The only real aggravating thing is the poison swamp at the bottom, but I still have tons of purple moss from darkroot garden, so that's not a big issue. Anyway, I somehow stumbled through dual illusory walls into some area called "The Great Hollow" or something. Should I keep climbing down this huge fuckoff tree or move on to Queelag?

Well, considering the amount of tricky dicky shit you can avoid by just being lucky ,and combining it with the fact that you can get help
and and this game is heavy on RNG. You can literally breeze through some parts.

Uh, yes. Rare weapon/items drops from enemies is an example of this. Also, the pattern that a boss would take on a speed run are influenced by RNG,
and then there is more obvious shit like

Oh i thought you meant like enemy placement or shit.

But no, boss attacks aren't really random, there are certain parameters that determine what attack they use

Shits filled with a bunch of items, one-punch-shrooms, a hydra, and you can become a dragon.

What's not to like

going through blightown with 15fps, dropping down to 8, was pretty infuriating on the ps3. playing through it on the pc was pretty smooth though.

Yeah it was much nicer on PC. Also the worst part of blighttown is when you don't know where the fuck you're going and what you'll run into next. Nothing there is super hard to fight if your character is decent, the big club guys are easy to get around and kill, and most of the little wormy guys are pretty puss as long as you don't get surrounded. The toxic blowdart guys are annoying but they don't respawn. The poisonous mosquito things can be annoying but die pretty quick. It's just everything combined and being in such a dark gloomy area not sure what's going to jump out at you. 2nd playthrough it's a walk in the park. And the poisonous lake is a reaaal pain in the ass, but again only until you know exactly where to run to get across it, and of course having the rusted iron ring is like a must.

So I climbed down the tree and met captain toad and pals from the fungus fiefdom, who hit like trucks so fuck those guys I ran past em into ominous chanting lake, beat the hydra again (was there even a difference between this one and the darkroot basin one aside from the jumping thing?) and joined the dragon covenant. Gave that bitch like 7 dragon scales and got nothing in return wow what a gold digger. Anyway now I gotta climb back up the tree which i dont know is actually possible, and fight spider lady.
